How Does ClearCorrect Impact Your Smile?

Last week, we took a look at the Invisalign® system. However, this is not the only clear and comfortable option for addressing misalignment. With ClearCorrect, we help our Omaha, NE, patients enjoy healthier and straighter smiles without relying on metal braces.

The ClearCorrect System

We first need to collect detailed impressions and images of your teeth, which will be used at a dental lab to design and create a series of aligners from a clear plastic material. We then provide the patient with the aligners. They will be worn daily to help reposition the smile and address misalignment in as little as 9 to 18 months, depending on the age and the extent of the patient’s alignment issues.

Preventing Oral Health Problems

Treating an uneven smile helps reduce the risk of tooth decay and gum disease. Misalignment often provides places for food particles to become trapped and broken down by bacteria. As a result, cavities and periodontal problems may be more likely to occur. In addition, correcting your alignment helps reduce pressure on the jaw joints, decreasing the risks of TMJ disorder and bruxism (teeth grinding) from developing. Addressing your uneven smile not only improves your smile’s beauty, but your overall oral health as well.

What to Expect

In order to obtain the results you want in the time frame the dentist quotes, you need to wear the aligners daily for between 20 and 23 hours. You can remove them, but only for meals, when brushing and flossing, or for special occasions. About once every two weeks, you will need to upgrade to the next set as your teeth gradually move to optimal positions.
